    • I'm at drupalcon..... DRUPALCON.
At least they do an "after-party" for the mentally disabled caterer's assistants and janitors' helpers.

The event coordinators mingle with them, so I can't tell which is which.

    • Hire telecom engineers with ease today: join Field Engineer
The B2C world has this on-demand work thing down - TaskRabbit, for example. But B2B is different, because it's not just the "gig" but also the specific skills people bring. Especially in the telecom space, companies have very specific requirements, including service level requirements that dictate what success looks like according to their customer's standards. So that's why FieldEngineer.com goes beyond being an app for the gig economy and focuses on addressing what we call the experience economy, and for the telecom space. We offer a new model for B2B work that brings together capable individuals with the companies that have work to do. - Malik Zakaria, founder and CEO of Field Engineer.

    • Is it wrong to admit that Microsoft Xenix IS more advanced than all of NT (current state)
Xenix had Squarenix pack (code box) and almost all of code pile +16 as well. It ran all all known bitwidth and sold well, especially in the Govt's back in the late 70's though the early 90's. SCO (as all of you know) was never a real company nor legitimate...all of Unix in the universe is owned by me, my co's and Squarenix. It seems to me that MS Redmond is had it's efforts to break the company.

Sad but true. Any users of Xenix?

    • Circuit City Is Coming Back
      https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2018/01/the-corpse-of-circuit-city-will-rise-again-on-february-15/

"Circuit City CEO (((Ronny Shmoel))) confirmed on Monday that something called Circuit City will arrive as "a new, more personalized online shopping experience" starting February 15.

(((Shmoel))) claims that the company has put together a fully fledged inventory and distribution system, with a mix of known electronics brand names and "tier-two and tier-three" names. The same cannot be said for its claim of eventual brick-and-mortar showrooms in the neighborhood of 8,000-10,000 square feet, however. (((Shmoel))) already backtracked on similar showroom promises in 2016, and his CES pronouncement of future shops included no hard confirmations of locations or dates. But for anybody who dares to dream, Circuit City's showroom design partner, Taylored Group, released a concept render of its store vision which looks like a Radio Shack as if rendered in a Taiwanese hot-take news video

    • POLL: Do you listen to broadcast radio?
      Page: 2
Local FM classic rock station has some old-time DJ stuff with two of the fuckers actually humorous with adult-oriented material. The station supports our Legion post in several ways. They interview a veteran weekly and the post pays for the lunch and the interviewed is placed upon the stations' Web site. Fuckers even have funny commercials. The ads the station creates for the firm are hilarious at times. Locals actually mention them in conversation. I am surprised this local FM 70s to 80s mostly oldies station is so wild here in the fucking Bible Belt.

I shoot the shit with the head DJ/programmer/manager regularly when he is at the post. He grooved on our interview. Typical interview is around 20-minutes. Mine was over an hour. Yah' see... I wanted to hear about his crazy shit with radio. He wanted crazy Navy shit. A two-way street, yah' know. He had to edit a lot from the tape before placing it on the Web. He kept the unedited version for sharing with friends. Hears they get a kick out of the crazy shit... all of it true but I covered my ass when we started recording... no promises... this is all 169% true except where I lie. You decide if and where I lied. He smiled knowingly.

Otis XII... Otis Twelve. Humorous in an adult way at an Omaha FM station. Saturday and a live on-air thing at a fucking grand opening for a grocery store. I never have gone to that shit for my own reasons. However, bored, nothing going on and because the fucker was obviously a highly-intelligent well-read chap off I went. Expecting at least a small crowd there was the radio van and table and assorted shit next to the main entrance and... just one dude sitting there. A very few folks walking back and forth in and out of the store and not paying any attention to the event. Cool. I wandered over and the fucker was grateful for the company. He told me about earlier days when he and other fuckers gained everlasting fame with:

"Ogden Edsl (shortened from "The Ogden Edsl Wahalia Blues Ensemble Mondo Bizzario Band") was an American band, formed in 1970 in Omaha, Nebraska, by Bill Frenzer, Bill Carey and Otis XII. Their music was often darkly comedic and satirical, and was frequently featured on Dr. Demento's weekly radio program.[1]

Popular songs from Ogden Edsl included "Dead Puppies", "Kinko the Clown". and "Daddy's Money". Over the years, the band has achieved a cult following in American sub-culture. The band's name is a reference to poet Ogden Nash; Nash Motors and Edsel are both brands of automobile."

    • Facebook security chief, in leaked audio, rips own company on current security practices
      https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/19/facebook-security-chief-alex-stamos-leaked-audiotape.html

Facebook chief security officer Alex Stamos says in a leaked audio recording that the company's cyber defense operations are run "like a college campus, almost" to satisfy the company's internal culture of freedom to experiment, even though Facebook faces the same kinds of highly sophisticated attacks as a defense contractor.

"The threats that we are facing have increased significantly and the quality of the adversaries that we are facing...Both technically and from a cultural perspective I don't feel like we have caught up with our responsibility," Stamos says in the recording, which was made in July and obtained by the tech news site ZDNet.

"We have the threat profile of a...defense contractor, but we run our corporate networks...like a college campus, almost," he says.

Stamos, formerly the chief security officer of Yahoo, then went on Twitter to explain his coments.

That's why ad agencies are traditionally staffed with hot slutty young women willing to do almost anything to close the deal and keep the client happy. It's a still like mad men even 50 years later.

But with more females at ceo and in other positions of power that model fails.

I know, we need some hot slutty young man in account services to join the team!

      :pedohunter:

But women don't need to pay for sex and are not motivated by some stud trying to lick their twat. Plus all the hot yung bois in marketing are gay. Very very gay.

    • March on Google
self inflicted military psyop by CIA lemon party gestapo. Something like all those rabbis who get caught drawing swastikas on their own synagogues. Don't forget that google is compound phrase made out of "go ogle". Ogle is obvious hint about kamasutra warfare. Another thing to keep in mind is alphaBET inc the parent company of google. It's not only hint about holding company for alphabet soup inside tar budget kettles and pots of gold under the rainbows, but it's also compound word "alpha" + "bet". Now we are already in territory of casinos and gambling that is always run by alpha males surrounded by muscular rainbow fight clubs pretending being mafiosi and what not.

    • The concept of using web-based programs like Google's Gmail is "worse than stupidity", according to a leading advocate of free software.

Cloud computing - where IT power is delivered over the internet as you need it, rather than drawn from a desktop computer - has gained currency in recent years. Large internet and technology companies including Google, Microsoft and Amazon are pushing forward their plans to deliver information and software over the net.

But Richard Stallman, founder of the Free Software Foundation and creator of the computer operating system GNU, said that cloud computing was simply a trap aimed at forcing more people to buy into locked, proprietary systems that would cost them more and more over time.

"It's stupidity. It's worse than stupidity: it's a marketing hype campaign," he told The Guardian.
